Elkhart Physician Chosen State's '51 'Family Doctor' Indianapolis, Oct. 29 (JP) Dr. A. C. Yoder, 84, who has been practicing medicine in Goshen for 49 years, was named Indiana's "family doctor of the year" today.

His selection by the house of delegates of the Indiana State Medical Association makes him eligible for a nationwide competition for "general practitioner of the year." He will represent Indiana at the American Medical Association convention in Los Angeles next December. Dr. Yoder was born in Lagrange County in 1867. He was teaching in a one-room country school by the time he was 16. Later he graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and served as principal of Vincennes High School for six years.

He started his medical practice in Goshen in 1902, the same year he graduated from Rush Medical School. Dr. Yoder has been married more than 50 years and is the father of four children. More than 1,000 physicians and surgeons registered today for instructional courses in scientific subjects. Business meetings of the 102nd annual convention will open tomorrow morning.

Woman's Body Found in West Coast Trunk Los Angeles, Oct. 29 t.n Detectives worked today to crack a mystery surrounding identity of a woman whose nude body, crammed in an ancient trunk, was found discarded in a weed patch.

An amethyst ring, pieces of clothing and the battered old trunk were about all investigators had to start with except for the partly decomposed body. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Lack of blood at the scene indicated that the victim had been slain elsewhere. Her age was estimated at 30 to 40.
